PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE REGISTERING FOR A 'THE LAN' EVENT. BY REGISTERING FOR A 'THE LAN' EVENT, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU MAY NOT REGISTER FOR AN EVENT HOSTED BY 'THE LAN'.

1. General

1.1 This agreement governs your use of the services and events hosted by 'The LAN' (henceforth the 'Service'). Including the website, all events hosted by 'The LAN' and any events affiliated with 'The LAN'. Additional terms and conditions of use applicable to specific areas of the Service may also be posted in such areas and, together with this agreement, govern your use of those areas. This agreement, together with any such additional term and conditions, are referred to as this "Agreement."

1.2 'The LAN' reserves the right, in its discretion, to change or modify all or any part of this Agreement at any time, effective immediately upon notice published on the website. Your registration for an event is binding acceptance of these terms and conditions, including any changes or modifications made by 'The LAN' as permitted above. If at any time the terms and conditions of this Agreement are no longer acceptable to you, you should immediately cease all use of the Service.

1.3 BSAA WARNING
'The LAN' reminds and warns all participants that infringement of copyright is a serious matter which may result in monetary penalties (from the BSAA). Accordingly, it is a condition of participation in any event that participants only use licensed software. The use, advertising, copying or distribution of unlicensed software or Warez is prohibited and will result in immediate expulsion from the event.

2. Events

2.1 By registering and attending an event you are taking responsibility for all your actions at the event. Whilst 'The LAN' staff will take all measures possible to ensure the safety of all attendees and of the equipment brought by these attendees, 'The LAN' takes no responsibility for data transferred by yourself or another attendee, or for equipment belonging to you brought to the event. Any damages incurred are the responsibility of the owner.

2.2 'The LAN' takes no responsibility for any data transferred during the course of an event. It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure they have the correct licenses for any software obtained at the event, and are not breaching any copyright laws by transferring, or allowing the transfer of any data during an event.

2.3 'The LAN' also takes no responsibility for any damages sustained by data transferred over the network or as a result of such a transfer, such as viruses. Attendees are encouraged to ensure all data transferred is free of viruses, and that their system is free of viruses before the event.

2.4 'The LAN' provides an internet connection for use of web page browsing and playing games that require an internet connection. 'The LAN' reserves the right to expel anyone from the event, with no refund, anyone who is found to be abusing the internet connection for purposes other than intended. These actions might include, but are not limited to, peer to peer sharing, bittorrent downloading or seeding, downloading copyrighted or pornographic material (from sites such as Rapidshare), or excessive downloading at 'The LAN's discretion.

2.5 All pornographic material is banned from being shown, transferred or otherwise distributed at events. Users found with such materials shared, being distributed, or even just the viewing of such materials will be asked to cease the activity, failure to comply will result in expulsion from the event with no refund. Serious and/or continual offenders will be considered on a case by case basis and action deemed appropriate will be taken.

2.6 Any persons found in possession of Alcohol/drugs/other illegal substances will result in expulsion from the event with no refund. 'The LAN' also reserves the right to remove any person deemed by the organisers to be causing trouble from the event.

2.7 It is a condition of entry that money paid for admittance into an event is non-refundable. Organisers are not required to refund money paid upon entry upon early leaving for any reason. 'The LAN' also does not give credit or accounts to participants, do not ask for these as refusal often offends.
2.8 The fee paid for admittance gives the person access to a single network cable provided at each seat at the event. If more than one network cable is used by any one person, 'The LAN' reserves the right to remove the network cables from that person without warning.
